Foreign texts banned

The Ministry of Education has announced that in future teaching materials must 'insist on the guiding principles that reflect the Chinese style'.

'All primary and secondary school materials must reflect the will of the party and the country' in order that students (the flower of the country) may 'bear the great responsibility of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation'.

The memoir of Sir Edmund Trelawney Backhouse, 2nd Bt. (Backhouse /bækˈʌs/, which is appropriate) will be published this week , and a cracking good read it looks, even if it is a load of old cobblers.
