A Sapphic stanza

Braids of strong garlic have repelled some critics.
Vampire scribes! Biting at 'banality', they
cannot hear beauty in the dreamy metre,
singing so quietly.

Warmth went; all alone and on a freezing plain, dressed in a tunic, sharp knife in her belt, bow on her shoulder, arrows in a quiver  behind.
